Do you think having a written-down Business Plan is important?

*Thoughts by: B. Brown (BREG)

One of the 1st things I did when I was developing Bar-Red Entertainment Group (BREG) along with my Business Partners was to sit down with experienced industry people and "listen" to what they had to say. I heard a lot of interesting stories, but the main thing I got from all those meetings was that you had to have a plan and that you had to be willing to work!

So all of you aspiring artists, ceo's and business men and women, brainstorm and connect with Industry Veterans to get a feel for the current industry. Do in-depth research on your own and start working on your business plan.

If you need help, you may need to hire a consultant that can assist you and lead you in the right direction.

*Checkout what Jay-Z has to say about him, Dame & Biggs in regards to a Business Plan ....... (Excerpt from Jay-Z's book DECODED)

"So in 1994, Dame, Biggs, and I pooled our resources to form Roc-A-Fella Records ... We didn't know the business yet, but we knew how to hustle ... The difference with us was that we didn't want to get stalled at low-level hustling. We had a plan. We did more than talk about it, we wrote it down. Coming up with a business plan was the first thing the three of us did. We made short and long-term projections, we kept it realistic, but the key thing is that we wrote it down, which is as important as visualization in realizing success."
